Ham – Salami – Baloney : Biden’s peace plan

Ham, Salami and Baloney!

First the Baloney

This past Friday, long after Shabbat had started in Israel, President Biden decided to give a speech.

He announced that Israel had offered a ceasefire agreement to Hamas. Biden then began to list the details of the offer!

If you read the transcript of the speech, you will see that Hamas remains in Gaza along with its remaining terrorists… It is clear what he was describing was not an Israeli offer, and PM Netanyahu made it clear that we would never make an offer that included Hamas not being eliminated.

Biden also claimed, “The people of Israel should know they can make this offer without any further risk to their own security because they’ve devastated Hamas form- — forces over the past eight months. At this point, Hamas no longer is capable of carrying out another October 7th, which — one of the Israelis’ main objective in this war and, quite frankly, a righteous one.”

If that were true, who is still firing missiles at Tel Aviv and who is killing our soldiers? And who is going to “replace” Hamas, if Hamas and its terrorists are still in Gaza?

Hamas will murder any Palestinian who tries to take over in Gaza just like they killed Palestinian Authority (PLO) officials in 2007.

This nasty political maneuver by the Biden Administration, is a continuation of the attempt to bring down Netanyahu’s government and replace him with Binyamin Gantz who is willing to go along with Biden’s policy of ending the war and capitulating to Hamas.

Next the Salami…

Biden wrote an oped in the Washington Post back in November where he stated his policy, “As we strive for peace, Gaza and the West Bank should be reunited under a single governance structure, ultimately under a revitalized Palestinian Authority, as we all work toward a two-state solution,”

And who exactly is the “Palestinian Authority?”

The Oslo Accords were signed in 1993 between PM Yitzhak Rabin on behalf of the State of Israel and Yassir Arafat on behalf of the PLO terror organization.

The Palestine Liberation Organization was given “Authority” by the Israeli government to “rule” over the West Bank and Gaza Strip. To give the terror group a patina of peace, they were rebranded the “Palestinian Authority.”

Both Hamas and the PLO are “parties” of the Palestine National Council along with the PFLP, PIJ and other terror organizations.

Today Hamas rules Gaza, and the PLO rules Judea and Samaria.

What is the difference between the two groups?

Hamas is a branch of the radical Islamic Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt. They believe in the complete destruction of the the State of Israel – “From the River to the Sea.” Full stop. All or nothing.

The PLO is a nationalist movement governing a Sunni Muslim population. They ALSO believe in the complete destruction of the State of Israel – “From the River to the Sea.”

However… in 1974 the PLO adopted its “10 Point Plan” also called “The Salami Plan.” It called for the step by step phased destruction of Israel. Accepting the Oslo Accords was just the first “slice” in destroying Israel, slice by slice like a salami.

Mr. Biden, replacing Hamas with the PLO will not lead to peace for Israel. Neither the PLO nor Hamas will allow anyone to govern who does not believe in the ultimate destruction of the State of Israel.

Lastly, the Ham…

I was watching Channel 14 (loosely the Fox News of Israel), and there was an interview that simply and clearly showed how the Biden Administration and all Western governments and organizations have a fatally flawed ability to find solutions for the “Middle East” conflict.

The host on Channel 14 (an orthodox Jewish woman) was interviewing MK Almog Cohen from Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit party.

In the middle of the interview, Cohen asked the hostess, “What would I have to give you to eat a piece of ham?”

She was taken aback and asked him what he meant.

“Would you take a million dollars to eat a piece of ham?” he pressed.

“Of course not…,” she answered. She would not compromise on her religious commitment to not eat pork.

Then he asked, “So what do you think you can offer Hamas to get them to give up on their Muslim religious obligation to destroy the State of Israel?”

May our leaders learn to think like our enemies when dealing with them instead of projecting our own world views onto them.

With blessings for peace and a Happy Yom Yerushalayim.
