This year the Hebrew month of Tishrei coincides with most of the month of September. The festivals of Rosh HaShanah (New Year), Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), Sukkoth (Tabernacles) and its intermediate days, and Simchat Torah and Shemini Atzeret all fall within a few weeks!
That means, in addition to all the praying we will be doing a LOT of eating at the festival and Shabbat meals.
Isn’t there an inherent contradiction between the spirituality of the Holy Days and the physical pleasures of the feasts?
